Summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a dynamic and Senior Sales Manager to join our animal nutrition team and lead business development and nutrition consultant team. This remote opportunity is crucial in overseeing business development efforts, focusing on supporting service at vertical integrator customers and commercial-scale producers across our national footprint. The successful candidate will manage and develop both indirect and direct channel strategies, ensuring that our market approach is robust and effective. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of empowering agriculture by optimizing market strategies, increasing market share, and enhancing operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of business development sales leads (animal nutrition consultant and sales consultants) driving results and ensuring that sales goals are met or exceeded. 
  • Lead the development and execution of strategies that support both direct and indirect channel sales, ensuring alignment with business objectives. 
  • Identify, recruit, and retain high-quality sales staff who possess the necessary product knowledge and selling skills to effectively grow market share. 
  • Foster positive and inclusive team culture by promoting communication, collaboration & continuous development, ensuring an environment that aligns with company values and drives engagement & retention. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand our customer base, focusing on vertical integrators and commercial-scale producers with our full portfolio of liquid, premix, complete feed, and commodity ingredients.  
  • Drive pipeline accountability and manage the development of annual budgeting and forecasting in line with sales volume goals. 
  • Collaborate with functional partners to plan and execute advertising, promotion activities, and sales program communications, ensuring that all sales channels are effectively supported. 
  • Develop and execute market strategies that leverage our indirect and direct channels to optimize market share and sales margins. 
  • Explore and open new routes to market, ensuring our products and services reach the right customers through the most effective channels. 
  • Manage and support the service needs of vertical integrator customers and commercial-scale producers, ensuring satisfaction and long-term partnerships. 
  • Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints in collaboration with plant and office teams. 
  • Support the Credit Department in managing customer accounts within established guidelines. 
  • Provide regular communication with the Director of Sales on progress related to key strategies and initiatives. 
  • Commit to ongoing training and initiatives that will enhance employee job performance and satisfaction. 
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • High School diploma or GED. 
  • 8+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, and/or Sales Business Operations. 
  • Prior experience leading a sales team with a focus on growth in lifestyle/retail and wholesale channels. 
Additional Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing both indirect and direct channel strategies. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
