Job Description

Open date is set for Mid November, hiring to start training in October.

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server to join our team. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fine dining, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant.

Responsibilities

- Greet and seat guests, taking orders and serving food and beverages with a smile.
- Operate a cash register or POS system accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, chairs, and restrooms.
- Ensure that all orders are fulfilled promptly and to the guest's satisfaction.
- Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Provide recommendations on menu items and wine pairings as needed.
- Manage time effectively to ensure that all tables are served and that the dining area remains clean and organized.
- Collaborate with other servers and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge about our menu and ingredients, and be able to answer guest questions accurately.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge about food service and safety, and ensure that all food is handled and served in compliance with our standards.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in fine dining or a similar restaurant environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in operating a cash register or POS system.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy trays or food items.
- Strong math skills for handling cash and operating a cash register.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide help when needed.
- Knowledge of food preparation and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with Aloha POS system is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $4.35 - $5.15 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week

Experience:

  • Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Preferred)
  • Night Shift (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Norwalk, IA 50211 (Required)

Work Location: In person
