Job Description

Fifth Group Restaurants is holding an open call session on Wednesday, 10/23 from 1:30 - 3:30PM at Ecco Midtown. You could be hired for any of our locations in Buckhead, Midtown, Virginia Highlands, or Downtown. Make sure to bring your updated resume. Immediate placement is available. We are looking for servers with upscale casual and fine-dining experience. Weekend availability is a must.

The Server role at Fifth Group Restaurants is one of the most important positions in the company. The Server is the person on the “front line” who will spend more time with guests than anyone else. The Server will assist guests in deciding on a meal plan, recommending complementing food and beverage and assuring the meal is served in a timely and professional manner all to result in a joyful and memorable dining experience.

Being a Fifth Group Server requires a high degree of conscientiousness, accountability and professionalism. Servers must be reliable and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining confidence and composure. They must have an excellent eye for detail and be driven to exceed guests’ expectations.

Product Knowledge/Service Steps: We value learning and growing. We are inspired by and foster creativity.

  • Maintains thorough product knowledge, including all dining and bar menus, wine and spirits, in order to compare, contrast and ultimately recommend the most suitable items for guests.
  • Demonstrates excellent personalized suggestive selling in all guest interactions.
  • Consistently executes the 14 Elements of Connected Service.
  • Achieves knowledge of restaurant concept and Fifth Group history and personnel.
  • Possesses the ability to work in Support Server, and Greeter roles.
  • Resets and prepares tables for new guests. The Greeter and Support Server assist as they are able, but the server is ultimately responsible for resetting their own tables.
  • Runs all food to guests, including assisting other servers whenever necessary.
  • Maintains effective communication with guests through regular check-backs.

Financial and Legal: We are committed to profitability.

  • Knows and follows all applicable City, State and County liquor laws and food safety standards.
  • Immediately processes all types of guest payment transactions accurately.

Operations: We demand quality.

  • Attains a thorough working knowledge of the P.O.S. register system and accurately communicates all orders to the Kitchen and Bar in a timely manner.
  • Completes all assigned sidework, opening/closing duties, duration duties, and weekly cleaning projects.
  • Ensures the dining room, wait-stations and storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Demonstrates superior technical skills in the following areas: execution of established steps of service, table maintenance, points of service, plate and glass handling, consolidation of responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling and crawling
  • Occasional ascending or descending of ladders, stairs and/or ramps
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing and rotation of the spine, elbows and wrists
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular and continuing basis
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, i.e. case of wine, full ice buckets, etc
  • Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words and in the process of communicating with guests and employees
  • Constant use of POS/Computer systems
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
