SALARY: Dependent on experience and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Post Adoption Specialist, you will have the incredible opportunity to work with adoptive families throughout South Dakota. The Specialist provides information and support to families who have adopted through the Department of Social Services as well as other adoptive families who are experiencing challenges after their adoption. You will work collaboratively with community partners to identify and connect families with resources and support to meet their needs. The Specialist will work closely with the Adoption team and be involved in developing and implementing support groups, day camps, and mentorship for adoptive families and children.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in social work or a related field, plus one to two years of related experience. The Specialist will be required to be licensed by the South Dakota Board of Social Work examiners – licensure can occur after hire.

Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
