Job Description

The Visa Portfolio Management Operations team is accountable for driving transparent and consistent portfolio management practices to ensure the highest impact investments are prioritized.

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director of Portfolio Management to lead our portfolio management practices in a complex, matrixed environment. The role is critical to ensure transparency to our resource allocation, influencing stakeholders to bring consistency and alignment, and who wants to successfully impact the future growth of Visa.

Position Summary

This role will report to the Vice President of Product Operations and will help to advance the Visa wide product portfolio management practices, and support planning and day-to-day portfolio management activities, in close partnership with our Product Operations Business Units and Development teams.

The ideal candidate will be a structured, critical thinker with excellent communication skills and has the ability to make the complex simple.

Extensive experience in portfolio management, R & D investment analysis, and product development and management is critical. Product Portfolio Management Operations, Senior Director

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for managing R&D investment portfolio for Product within Visa fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture

  • Works closely with Product and Technology partners, at all levels, to ensure portfolio decisions are well informed and aligned to strategic objectives

  • Drive strategic improvements in data, transparency, and insights in our R&D investment views, including performance on investments

  • Help coordinate, and drive consistent, cadence of executive level portfolio health session

  • Improve visibility into the entire product investment lifecycle, and ability to level it up for executive consumption to drive more real-time decisions

  • Ability to understand the portfolio investment data and drive new insights trends to speed consumption and decision making for Leadership

  • Implement and manage portfolio management metrics, and reporting to track progress and inform decision making

  • Identify and mitigate risk across portfolios, ensuring proactive management of potential issues that could impact speed to market

  • Drives continuous improvement in portfolio management processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance effectiveness and efficiency

  • Develop and manage a product portfolio prioritization framework to maximize return on portfolio investments

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • 15 years in Portfolio Management experience, 10 years product development experience, preferably in the payments industry, 5+ years in Senior Management experience
  • Strong financial background experience in investment portfolio management
  • Demonstrates expertise in portfolio management practices in a complex matrix environment
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing, guiding and providing mentorship to varying levels of staff
  • Results-driven and able to collaborate with management and colleagues to share responsibility for end-to-end solution
  • Outstanding communications ability to a diverse customer audience, including C level executives, product, and technical stakeholders,
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, self-motivated, self-managed
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Excellent MS Office experience (Project, Power Point, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
  • Experience working in agile development environment is preferred

Work Hours:Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements:This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements:This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,800.00 to 256,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
