Job Description

PrideStaff is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for a well known and respected company in the Forest Park, IL area. This position is a TEMP TO HIRE role with a starting salary of 65-70k DOE. This position includes a range of accounting and financial analysis tasks, with the possibility of working remotely for a few days each week after the training period has been complete. 

Position Summary: Reporting to the company’s Assistant Controller, perform various accounting and financial analysis responsibilities for one of the companies under the parent umbrella.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of the month close process
  • Providing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement analyses
  • Establishing and maintaining internal controls
  • Maintain and update balance sheet reconciliation files
  • Analyzing and reporting job costing monthly
  • Full ownership of all AR responsibilities
  • Preparing and submitting customer waivers as needed
  • Entering all AP invoices into ERP system and ensuring timely payment by reconciling to monthly statements from vendors
  • Recording various cash transfers between companies in ERP system
  • Work closely with the President to ensure all Millwork jobs are properly recorded
  • Full ownership of billing/invoicing cycle
  • Reconcile bank account to the general ledger monthly
  • Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Assist with year-end audit process
  • Take responsibility for filing sales tax returns on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Preparation of credit applications and various other requests as needed
  • Running and participating in various meetings with ownership/key employees

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Two to four years of accounting related experience
  • Millwork/Construction business experience is a plus
  • Cost accounting experience preferred
  • Critical thinker and problem solver
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Team player capable of successfully interacting at all levels with customers, peers, seniors & subordinates in the successful resolution of day-to-day business issues
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Possess the ability to communicate to others effectively
  • Capability to work independently, handle changing priorities and short time constraints.
  • Proficient computer skills: MS Windows, MS Office applications (Advanced Excel)
  • Have a strong working knowledge of financial accounting, ERP and MRP systems
