Job Description
We are recruiting talent to bring our innovative STEM For Kids programs to children through in-person classes. Business and curriculum opportunities for extra hours.

Responsibilities
- Lead activities with children and maintain discipline while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all children, online and in person.
- Manage materials — including but not limited to planning, transporting, setting up and cleanup of materials.
- Supervise and engage with children during scheduled breaks (lunch and play time).
- Other responsibilities include handling customer interface, social media, online and offline outreach, and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Business and curriculum opportunities for extra hours.
Work Environment
- Our camps and classes are dynamic with a high level of activity; candidates must be able to sustain a high level of energy.
- Expect to stand up to 95% of the program; able to bend or assume postures in low level positions to make eye-contact and work with children on the floor as needed
- Perform all activities with children like play, jump, walk, run for extended periods of time indoors and outdoors.
- Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor the environment and children’s well being
- Must be flexible and able to excel in an ambiguous and continuously changing, competitive environment.
- Work hours and location will vary to meet the needs of children.
Hours
- Expect to work up to 5 days / 10 -20 hours per week (flexible).
- Looking for individuals who can work afternoons, starting at 2:30PM.
- Must be available for in person classes.
- In person classes are conducted in Raleigh, Cary, Durham.
- Travel to Fayetteville, Kinston, Winston Salem possible (Travel reimbursement provided.)
Compensation
- Job is paid hourly at a competitive rate based on education & experience.
Benefit: Discounted camp rates for school-age children, if applicable.
Job Qualifications
- 2 years for experience working and conducting hands-on activities with school age children in a camp setting, teaching, tutoring, etc. is a plus.
- Scheduling flexibility with availability to work during after school times (after 2:30 - 3 PM). Programs run year-round.
- Possess an associate degree in science. Bachelor degree in science, math, engineering or education field is desired (students with degree-in-progress will be considered)
- Dependability, can-do attitude, responsibility and ability to work in fast changing environments.
- Superior communications and a fun-loving personality.
- Ability to work collaboratively to maintain positive relationships with parents, children, co-workers and clients.
- Understanding of basic scientific and engineering principles.
- Eagerness to learn, create, tinker and be comfortable with technology.
- Experience with computer programming is a plus.
- High quality and professionalism is a must as we are looking for role models for children.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 10 per week
