Job Description

Purpose of Position:
Oversee the day to day operations of the store.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the store and its employees.
  • Maintain and review the following reports: inventory reports, price change reports, labor reports, and department and store sales reports as directed by supervisor.
  • Review and sign off on gun log paperwork and keep store compliant with all ATF regulations.
  • Manage all aspects of discretionary budgets including donations, store supplies and fixtures, and advertising.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures per company standards.
  • Manage, direct, and train the Department Managers.
  • Enter and maintain Department Manager schedules in time and attendance system and back up payroll functions in Office Manager’s absence, following company guidelines.
  • Manage the Pro-Form, Spiff and Experticity programs.
  • Know and enforce all company policies.
  • Train and assist (as needed) Department Managers in hiring, coaching, disciplining, addressing employee complaints and terminating all employees.
  • Manage store events, hours, and employment opportunities on the Company website.
  • Oversee sales training program, ensuring that all employees receive the required training on a semi-annual basis.
  • Evaluate Department Managers’ efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage and motivate employees to increase sales and ensure efficiency.
  • Supervise merchandising of entire store while maintaining company standards.
  • Ensure that the entire store is clean, faced, and straight at all times.
  • Work closely with buying staff to recognize sales trends and customer needs.
  • Work with the Facility Manager to maintain the appearance and functionality of the inside and outside of building and grounds.
  • Approve and manage all wildlife mounts displayed in the store.
  • Oversee and audit cycle counts and price changes.
  • Perform other tasks as necessary and assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills
Good verbal and written communication is required as well as good math skills and problem solving skills. The ability to manage multiple employees, work with little direct supervision and to be highly motivated is required. The ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines is also required.
Education and Training
A college degree or work experience equivalent is required. An excellent knowledge of all software and equipment necessary to perform all job functions; including: Tomax, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Cisco phone system, and eTime, etc.
Physical Requirements
This position involves a variety of physical activities including: talking, hearing, sitting, standing for multiple hours, and repetitive motions.
Travel Requirements:
This position may require some travel.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
