As a GPSC Sustainability Analyst, you’ll be a member of our Socially Responsible and Sustainable Supply Chains Team. You will be responsible for the development and rollout of the company’s purchasing and supply chain sustainability processes, policies, and goals.
This is a unique opportunity to develop the blueprint and governance of a program that will have a ripple effect across the entire industry and country. You will play a key role in advancing GM’s Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) sustainability efforts to a leadership position within the global community. Your work will support GM’s (Zero Emission, Zero Congestion, Zero Crashes) vision, GM’s aspiration to be the most inclusive company in the world, and strong leadership imperatives in pursuit of a more sustainable future for all.
You’ll be tasked with While environmental sustainability is the main focus of the role, you will work closely with others to embed social responsibility into GM’s supply chain sustainability program.
This role will be tasked with program management of high visibility initiatives, and thus excellent communication skills are needed. The role will interface with senior leaders within Global Purchasing and Supply Chain as well as across GM.
You will act as a subject matter expert within the company regarding supply chain and logistics sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Support and provide insight on Science Based Targets for suppliers
Lead supplier engagement activities
Develop and deliver presentations for use inside GM and externally to communicate and educate others on various aspects of supply chain sustainability
Manage internal processes and systems that enable program adoption and performance
Benchmark and stay connected to external developments in the sustainability space
Support suppliers transition to renewable energy sources
Develop and support water risk management in the supply chain
Support development of new Sustainability goals related to supply chain and logistics and development of new programs to recently announced supply chain and logistics goals
Support, and at times develop, strategy and content for Sustainability communications- internally and externally through social media, report writing, presentations, and poster/infographics
Analyze sustainability metrics and data and provide recommendations and continuous improvements based on scientific methodology and trends
Lead internal and external summits and workshops while generating momentum and enthusiasm for the journey ahead, pursuing GM’s Zero Zero Zero vision
Represent GM in forums with suppliers and industry associations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help tell the GM story in various platforms and methods.
Work closely with various business units such as Sustainable Workplaces, Communications, Legal, Engineering and Design.
Develop and execute the fundamental strategies and techniques required for organizational change to embed sustainability across the supply chain
Develop relationships with GM suppliers, industry partners and associations, as well as to ensure alignment and cohesion internally
Drive to examine problems and recommended solutions thoroughly and have empathy with stakeholders to realize implementable solutions to drive forward an accelerated decarbonization and other areas of environmental impact for GM’s supply chain

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience
Experience with Purchasing and Supply Chain preferred
Prior experience and knowledge in the areas of sustainability, environmental performance, and ESG
Demonstrated knowledge around sustainability policies, industry accepted frameworks, and climate action guidelines.
Experience in leading projects, employee engagement, and/or consulting
Strong communication, and presentation skills
Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
Highly adaptable and able to work independently and in a team environment
Fundamental computer skills including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Required)
