Telehealth Health Economist - Operations Management Job Summary:
This position will plan, develop, implement, monitor and analyze the cost-effectiveness aspects of telehealth projects. This position will assist with training University of Mississippi Medical Center staff to collect and monitor the quality of the cost data, and assembling, monitoring, and analyzing economic data from the intervention and control group. Will work with staff to determine the unit cost of resources necessary for the planning and implementation of the interventions. Will work jointly with UMMC staff on extracting outcome data from the intervention and conducting literature search on relevant studies that can be used in the economic evaluation. Education & Experience
Doctorate degree in statistics or economics and at least 3 years of healthcare statistics or economics experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Responsibilities
- Quantifying pre and post health care system costs for patients utilizing telehealth relative to usual care
- Quantifying pre and post non-health care system costs for patients utilizing telehealth relative to usual care
- Estimating pre and post changes in outcomes for patients utilizing telehealth relative to usual care
- Undertake economic evaluation of telehealth relative to usual care from societal and payer perspectives
- Support health service research of UMMC telehealth Center of Excellence programs
