Title: Telephone Betting Clerk

Pay: $15.13 per hour

Position Type: Part Time / Temporary (up to 22 hours per week). Weekends required.

Capital District Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation is a public benefit corporation formed in 1973. Capital OTB provides legalized wagering on horse racing and lottery products with all profits distributed to local governments and the racing industry. Over a span of 30-plus years the corporation has flourished expanding to 17 branches and more than 32 EZ Bet locations throughout New York State from the Canadian border, to the Catskills, east to the Massachusetts and Vermont borders and west to the Madison and Cortland counties.

Description:

Capital District OTB offers an enjoyable and rewarding career. As a telephone betting clerk,

you will provide outstanding customer service ensuring accurate bets for our customers.

Wages are based on the union contract.

Responsibilities:

• Selling horseracing bets via telephone.

• Accurately communicate information.

• Ability to work with the public and provide friendly and courteous service.

Qualifications:

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

· Must be able to work rotating days (depending on branch hours)

· Weekends are required.

Skills & Abilities:

• Positive attitude and solid work ethic.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Dependability

• Eager to learn and able to take direction well.

• Excellent customer service.

• Knowledge of racing terms is a plus.
