Summary of Position

The Temporary Summer Job Coach is responsible for staying at the worksite and supervising the students assigned to that location.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with work site supervisor to ensure participants’ understanding of company policies and procedures and of the essential job requirements for each participant.
• Work side-by-side with each assigned participant to help them with job duties, company policies and procedures and proper work behaviors.
• Keep work-site supervisor informed of each participant’s progress and possible issues that need resolved.
• Document in daily notes each participant’s progress and issues.
• Help each participant complete required forms and timesheets.
• Attend scheduled meetings and staffing's.
• Works collaboratively with others, including other duties as assigned, to further the Goodwill Mission.
• Issue participants pay checks on pay day.
• Keep Summer Employment Team Lead informed with the daily progress of the worksite.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• School graduation or GED required.
• One year’s experience working with at-risk youth, or one year’s worth of college course work in social services, education, or related field required.
• Previous experience in working with youth or children with disabilities.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
• The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
