Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant overnight Unarmed Security Guard to patrol a hotel site in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate is responsible, reliable, and professional in order to maintain a secure and safe environment for our hotel client. The guard will be responsible for monitoring the premises and responding to any incidents, including reporting to and working with local authorities as needed.

Shifts are 11am-7:00pm 7 nights a week. We are seeking two part-time candidates to split this for 20-30 hours/week per guard. Occasionally, one guard may/can cover more or all shifts in a given week and entitled to overtime, but is not intended to be a regular occurrence.

**Duties:**

- Monitor the facility, both interior and exterior, to deter and respond to any security breaches or incidents.

- Patrol the premises to ensure the safety of everyone in the facility, reporting any maintenace issues to hotel staff and designated points of contact.

- Conduct visual checks of CCTV surveillance equipment to ensure everything is functioning properly.

- Respond to alarms and investigate any suspicious activity.

- Maintain a visible presence to deter any potential threats.

- Assist with loss prevention by monitoring the premises and reporting any incidents.

- Manage conflicts and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the security desk and surrounding areas.

- Complete regular security checks to ensure that the facility is secure and that all security measures are functioning properly. Submit reports either digitally via company's reporting app or handwritten logs as needed.

**Experience:**

- REQUIRED: Washington, D.C. Security Officer License from Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP)

- First aid certification preferred.

- CPR certification is an asset.

- Experience with conflict management and loss prevention is an asset.

- Experience with CCTV surveillance equipment is an asset.

**Skills:**

- Ability to work independently, following all protocols and operating procedures.

- Strong communication skills.

- Ability to manage conflicts and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times with our client, their guests, and local authorities.

- Ability to: work in various weather environments, occasionally lift or carry up to 30 pounds, climb stairs or ramps during shifts, stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
