R24427 Underwriting Metrics Analyst (Open to Remote) (Open)
Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
Compensation Minimum:$ 58,400
Compensation Maximum:$ 107,000
Responsible for the development of key performance indicators/metrics/dashboards and analysis for the Underwriting Operations department and provides data and reporting in support of divisional corporate underwriting projects and initiatives.
Provides leadership with reports and modeling needed to build recommendations and understand underwriting operations performance for management.
Provides data to business partners outside of UW Operations as necessary.
Ensures data integrity and accuracy.
Conducts accurate and timely business analysis and reporting to support and drive business decisions using statistical modeling and other business analysis tools.
Collaborates with key stakeholders to define key financial and operational metrics to continuously monitor, track, and report performance.
Maintains various models used to project business results; enhances the model where there is business value in adjusting the models.
Ensures analysis and reporting accuracy and integrity and explains performance drivers.
Partners with peers to develop, test, and deploy automated reporting solutions and automated decision analytics to replace manual business processes.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
Demonstrated experience consulting leadership on complex metrics concepts.
Demonstrated experience in developing data sets for wide-spread use.
Demonstrated experience utilizing software tools to query and report data.
Demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft Excel to build complex formulas and create reports.
Solid knowledge of the insurance industry and insurance-related financial concepts.
This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.

Creates underwriting metrics and solutions related to the division initiatives, Produces analysis and commentary to explain variances and anomalies.
Collaborates with other PL departments to define and establish the most appropriate metrics and reporting needs for each area to effectively meet business needs and drive actionable results.
Serves as steward of divisional operational and underwriting performance scorecards and operational metrics.
Locates, acquires, manipulates and transforms, and analyzes data from various data sources, requiring the expert use of querying, reporting and presentation tools.
Collaborates with business partners to incorporate necessary data and analysis outside the scope of the division as necessary.
Devises approaches to compile and present meaningful underwriting performance data from a variety of sources that result in significant impacts to divisional initiatives.
Based on candidate qualifications, you may be qualified for a higher level role within the job family.
Ideal candidates will have knowledge of complex formulas and visuals in Excel, SAS fundamentals, and underwriting knowledge.
Candidate must have the capability and connectivity to work remotely.
Fully remote work is an option for this position.
