Bowman Auto Center is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Used Car Buyer to join our dynamic team. As the Used Car Buyer, you will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition, management, and distribution of vehicles designated for wholesale at our dealership. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of automotive inventory management. Expect frequent travel alongside hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source & acquire vehicles suitable for retail through wholesale auctions and direct to consumer both in-person and online
• Maintain accurate records of all wholesale vehicles, including VIN numbers, mileage, condition reports, and acquisition costs
• Inspect incoming wholesale vehicles to assess condition and ensure they meet dealership standards
• Follow vehicles through reconditioning process and handle arbitration claims
• Build and maintain relationships with auction houses, wholesalers, and other industry professionals to facilitate smooth transactions
• Prepare all necessary paperwork and documentation related to wholesale vehicle transactions, including titles, bills of sale, and DMV forms
• Coordinate with sales teams to ensure efficient wholesale vehicle sales, including pricing strategies and promotional efforts
• Arrange transportation and logistics for wholesale vehicles to ensure timely delivery to buyers or auctions

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in automotive inventory management, preferably in a wholesale environment
• Strong understanding of vehicle valuation, market trends, and wholesale pricing strategies
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in inventory management software such as VIN, vAuto, Tekion, and Rapid Recon
