Position Objective:

The Vice President, Commercial Sales, plans, directs, controls and coordinates the Americas C&I Sales Team to achieve sales of the company’s products in assigned business segments, ensures products are sold in accordance with budgeted objectives to obtain maximum profitability and sales volume and continually evaluates the timely adjustment of the company’s sales plans and market strategies to meet changing competitive conditions.


Key Accountabilities:

• Develop Business Plans and Sales Strategies: Create and refine plans and sales strategies to achieve revenue growth, enhance market share and increase profitability in line with the Company’s overall growth objectives.

• Set Goals and Targets to meet Annual and Long-Term Objectives: Establish sales goals and targets for the sales teams, ensuring they align with overall short-term business objectives (quarterly/annual budget) and longer term (Fusion – 5 year) ambitions.

• Budget Management: Create and manage the sales budget, optimizing resources to achieve maximum profitability.

• Pricing Control: Ensure the balance of volume vs price achieves maximum short- and long-term profitability.

• Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Produce accurate sales forecasts and updates for inclusion in business forecasting and SIOP processes.

• Team Leadership: Manage, recruit, develop, mentor and retain the sales team, fostering a high-performance, high-talent culture, including succession planning up to and including the VP role itself.

• Team Performance: Achieve the sales budget goals by motivating, incentivizing, organizing, directing and managing the regional sales team.

• Customer Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with principle customers.

• Market Research and Competitor Analysis: Stay informed about market trends and competitors, adapting strategies accordingly and communicating the market situation to the senior management team.


Requirements:

Position Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field is required. Master's degree such as an MBA or related degree is highly desirable;
  2. Extensive relevant experience in a similar leadership role;
  3. Strong background in the development and deployment of organizational improvement strategies. The scope of this role will mean it is necessary to aggressively move on new and existing markets and products;
  4. Proven leadership and change management success;
  5. Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals;
  6. Experience in management of multiple sales channel environments (e.g., distributors, OEM’s representative, exclusive, non-exclusive, direct);
  7. Strong business/financial acumen and market knowledge;
  8. Strong P&L management capability. A history of consistently delivering on expectations for sales growth and profitability must be demonstrated;
  9. Self-motivated individual, driven to produce sales results and who can negotiate and close a sale;
  10. Able to delegate and hold subordinates accountable for delivering sales results;
  11. Broad function experience in areas of strategic sales, including solutions sales, planning and marketing, business and market development;
  12. Ability to communicate and sell both products and value concepts at all organizational levels;
  13. Be able to synthesize various input and ideas into relevant and clear strategies and secure buy-in from diverse international teams in order to implement them;
  14. Possesses a natural way of influencing, both internally and externally. A master at diplomacy and has excellent listening skills, yet without lacking in leadership and drive to move things forward;
  15. Must be comfortable with both matrix and functional organization structures;
  16. Team player with proven success in building strong international and remote sales teams;
  17. Lean and project management training preferred; Solution Selling; Strategic Sales training experience such as Miller Heiman training; Leadership training.
