The Opportunity

The Vice President of Roche Support Network (RSN) is responsible for leading the largest organization within the US commercial function and will be responsible for optimizing technical service and support in this strategically important region with a focus on customer experience and value. This position currently has 8 direct reports, two of which are Vice Presidents. The RSN organization includes approximately 1700 employees nationwide and is responsible for all strategic implementations and preventative maintenance for customers across all franchises. Service represents over $140m in annual revenue to Roche Diagnostics Commercial (RDC) and has a P&L expense of $335m for RDC and is growing. As the largest affiliate service organization in Roche, the US is well positioned to provide thought leadership and excellence in Service for the global organization.

In this position you will have accountability for establishing and implementing the vision and strategy for the national field service and technical support function. You will be responsible for P&L management for the RSN business. Equally, you will ensure successful execution of the vision and strategy, drive optimal business performance and a high performing organization. Responsibilities also include ensuring appropriate documentation, service methodology, product design and service plans are in place for the company’s product offerings and high quality customer service with effective issue resolution. You will oversee the interface between the field service organization and related business areas. You will be responsible for demonstrating and instilling leadership and Roche values. You will partner with RD colleagues to secure the long-term success of the business. This position is a member of the North American Diagnostic Executive Committee (NADEC), Leadership and Change Teams and is accountable to develop and drive a culture that is committed to collaboration, transparency, compliance and quality.

In this role you will own

  • Responsibility for P&L management of the RSN business and developing, directing, and ensuring successful development and execution of its vision and strategy. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of strategies across the business area to ensure a synergistic and winning approach. Responsible for driving organic top line growth and achieving optimal business performance.

  • Responsible for the development and management of RSN leaders. Assesses resource capacity and capabilities to ensure strong alignment with business and/or financial objectives. Responsible for demonstrating and instilling leadership values.

  • Leads the new business development function that identifies and assesses new business opportunities, and drives these opportunities to fruition.

  • Leads business initiatives to maintain and enhance customer satisfaction while driving operational effectiveness and efficiencies (i.e. cost effectiveness, productivity, system efficiencies).

  • Partners with RD colleagues both globally and locally to secure the long-term success of the business as well as RD.

  • Ensures the RD Quality Policy is understood, implemented and maintained in all levels of the organization. Establishes and maintains an adequate organizational structure, provides adequate resources and actively participates in management reviews to ensure the RD quality system is suitable and effective to satisfy regulatory requirements and the company's quality policy and objectives. Directs the quality planning process to drive continuous improvements and changes of the RD quality system to ensure on ongoing effectiveness and efficiency. Develops and drives a work culture committed to compliance, quality and customer focus.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Master’s or 10 years applicable experience in a commercial leadership role

  • Exceptional knowledge of applicable local, state and national regulatory agency guidelines, including FDA.
