Job Description

As the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, Procurement & Quality, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement department and ensuring the necessary infrastructure to executive strategic and transactional processes with the highest quality and agility position. You will lead the centralization of all spending through close collaboration with multiple functions, prioritizing the pursuit of sustainable reductions in the total cost of ownership, with simultaneous improvements in quality, competitiveness, and service levels.


This position reports to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and is located in Providence, Rhode Island. This hybrid position involves 3 days in the office when not traveling.


As the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, Procurement & Quality, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Provide strategic leadership to create the global procurement (both direct and indirect) strategy including supplier, commodity, and region segmentation, establish best in class organization, and develop policies, procedures, analytics, and spend management while delivering high standards of quality and product value in partnership with brand research and development teams.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives, managing the procurement budget, minimizing order quantities (MOQ’s), minimizing lead times, and leading negotiations with suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
  • Responsible for supplier selection (identifying new suppliers and managing existing suppliers), contract management, and establishing strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Stay abreast of market, macro-economic, and commodity trends and innovations in procurement processes and technology to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and lead a global team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure that the procurement department meets its short term and long-term goals and objectives. Align the Aisa teams to best support the global objectives.
  • Implement a strategic procurement process for the organization to improve quality, service, and effectively capture reductions in total cost of ownership.
  • Analyze rising costs and recognize the effects of inflation to collaborate with Business Units / Platforms and Finance on proposing new pricing strategies to customers.
  • Manage the implementation of the Procurement Center of Excellence (COE) in various domains, covering master data configuration, processes, and tools to ensure alignment with all relevant partners.
  • Leverage data analytics and technology solutions to provide valuable insights for improving sourcing strategies and supplier relationships. Implement a score card for tracking supplier accountability, on-time delivery, quality metrics, and strategic partnerships.
  • Design and deploy industry leading procurement processes and technology solutions to deliver quantified value across the enterprise of brands and platforms​.


You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree. A Masters and procurement certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of Direct Sourcing experience.
  • 5+ years of Indirect Sourcing experience (i.e., professional services, MRO, travel, packaging, transportation, contractors, facilities, etc.).
  • Strong global strategic sourcing background and experience with Apparel and Fabrics, Consumer Electronics, and Plastics in particular Asia and Latin America. Regarding apparel sourcing, you should understand textile value chain, major players in textile value chain, sourcing best practices in seasonal environment.
  • Experience establishing new, professional procurement organizations globally, deploying strategy and delivering year-over-year cost reduction of >5%.
  • Ability to work across brands and business units to create horizontal and vertical sourcing leverage and synergies across design, quality, cost, and continuity of supply.
  • Experience in designing and creating standard and optimal terms and conditions for various commodity categories through direct and indirect sourcing with global suppliers. Skilled in leading extensive negotiations, devising risk management strategies, and utilizing digital procurement solutions.
  • Experience consolidating ERP systems and deploying transformational procurement processes and technology.
  • Strong financial acumen and leadership competencies.
  • Commodity index tracking and sourcing expertise.
  • Experience in digital sourcing use cases, implementation, and technologies.
  • Experience setting up sourcing organizations in Asia.
  • Experience with quality management systems and setting up dock to stock programs.
  • Preferred experience in cost Engineering.
  • Ability to manage a 30+ dispersed quality organization.
