We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to join our rapidly expanding team in the Portland area. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, cost control and the supervision and performance management of employees at plant warehouse and offsite warehouse.

Starting salary is $92,000 - $95,000 DOE

Oversee daily Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee AFNA Portland production warehouse and AFNA local outside warehouse
  • Monitor material handling practices. Understand and influence the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement, storage of all goods: Finished, Raw, Packaging, Operational supply materials and equipment. Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped
  • Coordinate Raw/Pack Material schedules with purchasing and production
  • Manage truck (traffic) schedules
  • Promote and sustain effective communication and collaboration between the materials warehouse and all other departments including production
  • Encourage and maintain a cooperative work environment both within and outside of the warehouse team
  • Negotiate with Internal and External Customers and act as a liaison to ensure 100% Customer Satisfaction.
  • Provide monthly KPI reporting for all identified area of performance.
  • Observe and enforce all safety guidelines
  • Manage /administer the Warehouse Management System

Cost control:

  • Analyze and control Fixed Overhead and Supply costs associated with warehouse activity
  • Track PIT repair costs
  • Supply: Analyze and improve expenditures for (including but not limited to):
  • All PIT Equipment
  • Racking and rack supplies
  • Manage PM Schedule of PIT equipment
  • Fixed overhead
  • Establish employee responsibilities
  • Create and monitor employee schedule
  • Monitor employee performance and manage hours worked to control OT and reduce labor costs
  • Asset tracking
  • Waste Management – manage waste management activities at all sites
  • Maintain and continue refinement of recycle and reverse logistics programs

Performance Management:

  • Research, analyze, help elect, and implement IT solution tools for process and productivity improvement
  • Material/PO Receiving
  • Inventory accuracy: Stock put-away

Material transfers
Picking accuracy

  • Promote, develop, and maintain employee relations among workers, provide conflict resolution when possible
  • Training: responsible for coordinating, managing analyzing, updating, improving, and creating training programs for:
  • Safety
  • New employees
  • Existing employees
  • I.T. (Power Industrial Trucks) – for all employees, AFNA Portland and AFNA Local Warehouse
  • JDE – warehouse department, AFNA plant and AFNA Local Warehouse
  • WMS/Bar Code – all employees/sites
  • New employees

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS preferred but not required.
  • At least five years related warehouse experience in a leadership role
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the field.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and write reports
  • Supply chain and warehouse certifications preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $92,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
