Job Description
Warehouse and Shipping Manager
The Cake Bake Shop Warehouse and Shipping Manager supervises and oversees all warehouse activities, ensures efficient processes, and maximizes warehouse/shipping productivity. This role includes supervising shipping and delivery drivers, coordinating logistical processes, ensuring the quality of goods, and maintaining accuracy of incoming and outgoing orders.
The Warehouse and Shipping Manager should be an effective team leader, being dependable and having excellent organizational and time management skills.
Core Objectives of this Role (this list is not all inclusive) :

Supervise warehouse, shipping and fleet staff and their day to day operational tasks. - Manage, evaluate and report warehouse productivity to the Director of Operations and/or VP of Operations.
- Work with Brand and Design Manager to track and catalog all decor seasonally.
- Track and coordinate the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Audit and report monthly inventory using Yellow Dog to ensure that counts are correct and orders are entered accurately by all departments within the warehouse.
- Track, forecast and maintain an ordering plan with timeline for all packaging and retail items, ensuring that the locations never run out of needed products.
- Work closely with Brand and Design Manager and VP of Operations to stay within accurate timelines and forecast with design time constraints taken into account.
- Work closely with leaders in other departments across the brand to streamline operational norms, identifying inefficiencies and creating solutions.
- Check orders, invoices, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
- Ensure basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations at the local and national level.
- Perform a daily inspection of the warehouse and equipment, reporting any safety opportunities to the Director of Operations and/or VP of Operations.
- Maintain equipment with regular upkeep and scheduled maintenance when necessary.
- Ensure the delivery of product to The Cake Bake Shop locations as notated in the Transfer Log
- Coordinate the delivery of purchased product to addresses of delivery, as instructed by the office team or other departments completing said orders.
- Ensure all products are packaged in accordance with The Cake Bake Shop brand standards and prepared for pickup by the mail carrier on a timely basis.
- Overseeing the preparation of new retail items, so that they arrive in sellable state to each location.
- Optimize layout and the flow of the warehouse storage areas on a regular basis, identifying inefficiencies and providing resolutions.
- Oversee proper scheduling of warehouse Team Members.
- Work closely with Human Resources and the Director of Operations and/or VP of Operations to ensure proper recordkeeping, also utilizing processes for handling Team Member issues, terminations, hiring, performance reviews, etc.
- Source, interview, and hire warehouse associate candidates using Workstream and communicate to Human Resources if hiring ads need to be placed to fill a position.
Job Requirements :

High school diploma or GED - 3+ years experience in a warehouse management role supervising team members
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedures and policies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to work with all levels of leadership
- Comfortable delivering frequent and direct written or oral feedback
- Ability to operate a forklift and other company provided machinery in compliance with safety regulations
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and work in a standing position for extended periods of time
Schedule is coordinated with the Director of Operations and/or VP of Operations to ensure proper coverage of week days, week nights, weekends and holidays.
