General Description and Classification Standards

The individual in this position is responsible for assisting the Office of Facilities Management and over-site for all structures on properties of the Department of Watershed Management. Duties may include but are not limited to ensuring that assigned projects are properly planned, designed, and implemented in compliance with approved scope, schedule, and budget; ensuring that all DWM facilities operate within federal, state, and local regulations and comply with standards relating to building codes, safety codes, and environmental regulations. This position will require someone with working knowledge of project leadership over complex projects, trains other professionals, or serves as a specialized subject matter expert in one or more specific areas.

This level would be expected to have leadership or technical responsibilities at a management level.

Supervision Received

Works under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Oversees, coordinates, and liaises as designated lead on all projects dealing with other DWM divisions & other stakeholders during planning, design, and construction phases, representing the DWM Office of Facility Management.
  • Directs staff on critical job functions and directions and/or approvals for meetings with internal and external customers.
  • Plans, executes, produces reports and recommendations, then follows up annual facility assessments for all DWM occupied buildings and all tenant occupied buildings in support of the total asset management program.
  • After senior staff reviews, the assessments are provided to the building occupants for remedial actions as necessary.
  • Quarterly follow-ups are then preformed with the building occupant. Manages and inspects Department Watershed Management facilities.
  • Reviews all request for space and access to the property by contractors and other city department.
  • Monitors the activities of DWM facilitates routine maintenance on the buildings and structures.
  • Assists in developing projects for implementation by Department of Watershed Management Office of Facilities Management as required for dealing with facility needs and/or stakeholders to ensure facilities remain in functional status.
