YMCA of Greater Seattle’s Hunger Response Team and United Way of King County are partnering together and seeking a team of full-time HungerCorps Member to end hunger in King County. YMCA of Greater Seattle: The YMCA of Greater Seattle operates many programs across King County and South Snohomish County to provide additional resources and opportunities for families to gain access to food. We support free meal programs all year round, including community meals, backpack programs, Y on the Fly, food pantries, produce boxes, senior and family meals, and afterschool meal programs. United Way of King County: is working side by side with communities to build an equitable future for everyone by ensuring that everyone has access to resources, quality education, enough to eat, and a safe place to call home. United Way concentrates on issues that affect the most vulnerable and on which it can have measurable influence. Under our priority of breaking the cycle of poverty, we are committed to ensuring that families, especially families of color, have access to nutritious food.


Member Duties : HungerCorps Members at the YMCA of Greater Seattle will support the Hunger Response’s Umbrella Program and other Afterschool Meal Programs (CACFP). This position will primarily focus on ensuring youth have access to free, nutritious meals, safe and engaging environments, and actively enthusiastic role models. This position will primarily serve the Auburn area. Member roles and responsibilities include: Direct daily site operation Supporting kitchen staff with meal service preparation and clean-up Overseeing meal service Ensuring federally required forms are completed daily Collecting, compiling, and turning in necessary program data Engaging youth onsite and providing a friendly, supportive environment Leading SEL-focused conversations with program participants Traveling between meal sites as needed Other duties as assigned
