Position Summary: The Supervisor of Prevention Services provides supervision and consultation to the 2Gen Prevention team in order to facilitate/maintain safety, permanency and well-being.

Location: Topeka

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, family development or related field. Years of related work experience may be substituted for years of education.

Licensure/Certification: Current Driver’s License and Auto Insurance BSRB Licensure within the state of KS preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills: Prevention Services and in-home services experience.

Job Description Summary:

Conduct Initial Family Assessments:

• Meet with families to understand their circumstances.
• Use standardized tools for assessment.
• Document findings accurately.

Identify and Prioritize Needs:

• Analyze data to identify key intervention areas.
• Prioritize based on urgency and impact.

Develop Individualized Service Plans:

• Collaborate with families to create personalized plans.
• Use a strengths-based approach.
• Align plans with program goals.

Connect Families to Services:

• Refer to KVC programs or community organizations.
• Coordinate access to resources.
• Advocate for timely and responsive services.

Monitor Progress and Adjust Plans:

• Regularly review service plan effectiveness.
• Adjust interventions as needed.
• Provide ongoing support.

Facilitate Parenting and Life Skills Education:

• Offer workshops on parenting, youth development, and life management.
• Empower families to enhance skills and resilience.

Promote Protective Factors

• Strengthen protective factors within families

Maintain Documentation and Reporting:

• Keep accurate records of interactions and plans.
• Generate required reports.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality policies.
