Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading electrical maintenance activities during plant shutdowns, with a focus on ensuring the integrity and reliability of electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with high-voltage substations, motor control systems, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues in industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shutdown Maintenance Leadership: Lead electrical maintenance activities during plant shutdowns, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the timely completion of all electrical tasks.
  • High-Voltage Substation Maintenance: Perform maintenance and testing of 13.6 kV substations, including switchgear, transformers, and protective relays, to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Motor Control Systems: Troubleshoot and repair 5 kV motor starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other motor control systems to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Three-Phase Systems Expertise: Demonstrate advanced knowledge of three-phase power systems, including power distribution, motor connections, and harmonic mitigation techniques.
  • 480V Motor Repair: Diagnose and repair 480V motors and associated control circuits, including motor winding replacements, bearing replacements, and alignment adjustments.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing electrical maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs performed during shutdowns. Provide detailed reports to management on equipment condition and maintenance findings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an electrical technician in an industrial environment, with a focus on shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems (Including 13.6kV starter troubleshooting, Management/Coordination, Switchgear, cleaning/Maintenance, etc.)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical issues in industrial settings, with a strong understanding of three-phase power systems and motor control principles.
  • Hands-on experience with 480V motors, motor starters, VFDs, and other motor control equipment.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations governing electrical maintenance in industrial facilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external contractors during shutdowns.
