Overview:
The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a strategic, proactive partner to one or more departments to ensure the alignment of departmental business objectives with talent management strategies.

This position may be filled as a level I or II. Additional responsibilities and qualifications apply.
Responsibilities:
  • Consult with assigned business leaders to understand business strategy/drivers and identify corresponding human capital solutions to achieve operational and strategic priorities
  • Serve as the central liaison between departmental leaders and the HR functional areas
  • Leverage human capital data to build insights into key trends and align with departmental strategy and business needs
  • Conduct regular meetings with respective client groups and/or their leaders to gain relevant business knowledge of their function
  • Diagnose complex people and talent gaps and develop targeted strategies to assist the department
  • Provide coaching to business leadership to identify trends, talent risks and opportunities, organizational effectiveness, performance management, efficiencies, and ensure consistent execution of procedures and policies
  • Design and implement employee engagement action plans
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Must have four-year degree in human resources, business or relevant field of student or equivalent business-related experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with one or more of the following HR disciplines: talent management, compensation and benefits, employment laws (federal and state), and HR compliance
  • Served in a mentor or senior level HR role previously
  • Thorough knowledge of federal regulations to include EEOC, OFCCP, Wage and Hour, FLSA and other HR regulatory knowledge
  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical, critical thinking skills and bring new innovative HR solutions to assist departments to meet business objectives
  • Prior experience with influencing and coaching at the senior leadership level
  • Prior experience developing, building, and maintaining strong business partnerships
  • Ability to engage and influence leaders at all levels of the organization, including Senior Leadership
  • Ability to drive organizational and change management, including the personal ability to adopt to changing situations as appropriate
  • Ability to work independently, exercise exceptional judgment and decision-making
  • Excellent oral, written and inter-personal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Preferred Human Resources or sHRBP certification
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Prior banking experience within the Trustmark footprint preferred
Level II additional qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with one or more of the following HR disciplines: talent management, compensation and benefits, employment laws (federal and state), and HR compliance
