Description:
  • Performs industrial/commercial type painting, refinishing and spraying to structures, furnishings, surfaces, equipment and roads.
  • Prepares walls, woodwork and other surfaces by stripping, patching, caulking, sanding, cleaning, or bleaching for finishing. Moves and protects furnishings and floor coverings prior to painting area.
  • Posts wet paint signs where needed.
  • Strips surfaces of old finishes with chemical strippers; refinishes and protects furniture.
  • Stains and paints finish on cabinets, bookcases, and shelves by spraying, brushing, or using a cloth to achieve desired color and tone.
  • Paints structures and surfaces by applying coatings with brush, roller and/or spray in a uniform manner.
  • Marks off and paints outdoor parking spaces, curbs, and other lines throughout the organization.
  • May hang commercial grade wallpaper by preparing surfaces, measuring space to determine quantity needed and utilizing appropriate tools.
  • Cleans and maintains painting tools and materials after completion of each assignment.
  • Drives utility vehicles to and from worksites. Responsible for daily inspections, maintenance, and safe operations.
  • Follows and complies with safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Safeguards utility vehicles against vandalism or theft.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent. Three years of commercial painting experience.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Some positions in this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
