This is a Plant Manager role in Memphis for a confidential client.


Reports directly to the General Manager


The Plant Manager has the responsibility and authority to direct the overall activities of the manufacturing facility. To manage, coordinate, direct, and counsel employees within documented parameters. To resolve problems, utilizing sound judgement and when necessary seek guidance. Adherence to company, supplier, and regulatory rules/regulations is paramount. The requirement to function closely as a team in relation to plant operations, quality, customer contact.

Job Summary

• Coordinate among all departments and post weekly work schedules.

• Assign duties and examines work to ensure adherence to established product quality and personnel safety standards.

• Delegates work assignments and assists in troubleshooting operational problems.

• Facilitates teamwork throughout the facility and promotes a positive self-image.

• Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to obtain optimum production.

• Ensure local level, corporate, and regulatory rule/regulations and policies are adhered to.

• Responsible for expense control, including shrink, labor, and overhead costs in all areas of the plant.

• Ensure that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) are developed and maintained for all aspects of the business.

• Implement plant safety programs and ensure compliance with general manufacturing practices (GMPs).

• Responsible for staffing levels, employee performance evaluations and discipline.

• Other job responsibilities as needed.

• Knowledge of dairy plant operations including HTST, CIP, and fillers.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work. Some duties also include appraising performance;

rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provides direct supervision to subordinates, including training and development opportunities.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in food processing field or business management preferred
