Compensation: $95,700- $159,400

Why this job matters:
You will lead the continued development and implementation of our Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance Program. Ensure Company’s use of AI aligns with our ethical principles, regulatory requirements, and overall business objectives.

What you will do:
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization (IT, Operations, Legal, Compliance, etc.) to develop a comprehensive AI governance framework.
  • Define and implement policies, standards and best practices for the responsible development, deployment, and use of AI.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential ethical, legal, and reputational risks associated with AI projects.
  • Stay up to date on emerging AI regulations and industry standards, ensuring our program remains compliant.
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate employees on AI governance principles and best practices.
  • Manage and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the AI governance program.
  • Identify and implement tools and technologies to support AI governance activities.
  • Collaborate with external partners (e.g., auditors, regulators) on matters related to AI governance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Business Administration, or related field, or a combination of education and related work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in a technical field.
  • Familiarity and experience in AI governance, ethics, or policy development.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their societal impacts.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management.

Location:
BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:
  • In-office: onsite 5 days per week
  • Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
  • Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia
