Overview:
The Adjustments Specialist will be responsible for completing assigned adjustment functions and duties, such as investigating incoming requests for processing errors to decide the necessary method to resolve them and make the appropriate disposition.
Responsibilities:
  • Investigate incoming adjustment requests such as encoding errors, missing items, posted twice, non-conforming images, and undetermined differences, then decide the necessary method to resolve the processing error and make the appropriate disposition
  • Initiate and or follow up for responses to clear exceptions for balancing/reconciling accounts
  • Process state warrants
  • Communicate with other business entities, financial institutions, and areas of the bank to establish relationships for escalating and expediting issues, exceptions, and requests for resolution
  • Assist other associates on assigned duties as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Solid math skills with some knowledge of balancing/reconciling procedures
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to learn quickly, meet strict deadlines, and adhere to policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and instructions
  • Basic computer, calculator, and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • People-oriented with customer focus
  • Previous banking experience with general knowledge of Deposit Operations, bank operations, and industry preferred
  • Basic understanding of the check clearing system through the Federal Reserve and other banks preferred
  • Knowledge of the deposits system, reporting applications, and the general ledger preferred
