A. F. Amorello & Sons is currently recruiting for the position of a Project Manager/Estimator.

A. F. Amorello is a 107 year old heavy civil company located in central MA that specializes in site work / roadway construction/ utility installation and paving project in Central and Eastern Massachusetts.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Project Manager shall oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are safely constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. This includes interfacing with client representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Submit preliminary paperwork such as submittals, introductory letters, subcontractor approvals, lump sum breakdowns of work items, purchase orders, etc.
  • Responsible for all aspects of cost management for the project
  • Coordinate and direct all project activities with the Project Superintendent/General Superintendent to ensure that all milestones are met and job continuity is maintained
  • Prepare and review periodic estimates with the owner's representative/Resident Engineer and submit an approved original estimate or pencil sheet copy to the regional office with the appropriate subcontractor quantity split.
  • Maintain contact with the project Owner and Architect/Engineer to obtain reduction of retainage and final payment and close out jobsite office
  • Complete estimate preparation for both small and large heavy civil projects, including Sitework, Roadwork and Utility Work
  • Partner with management team in developing new customers and growing our existing customer base.
  • Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers with other duties as required.
  • Experience in quantity take-off, review, coordination, and submittal of shop drawings, cost estimating, scheduling, technical support coordination between office and field operations, negotiation and buy out of subcontracts/PO

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years experience in the field is preferred.
  • Heavy/Sitework and highway construction of Mass. Department of Transportation Bridge and Highway projects.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering major or construction related field
  • Highly Organized , Strong Communication, Strong Interpersonal, Able to set priorities, Detail-Oriented, Problems Solver Leadership, Multi-Task.
  • Experienced in budget management, schedule, quality control, and knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Ability to effectively work with and manage personnel.
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office needed. Knowledge of Spectrum software, Bid-2-Win Estimating, AutoCAD and AGTEK Earthworks is a plus;
  • Proficient level in Heavy/Sitework Bid preferred
