Primary Purpose of Job

The position is responsible for executing daily funding and liquidity operations, including the bank’s Federal Reserve account, and correspondent bank accounts. Also performs various middle and back office activities for the Treasury team.

Major Job Accountabilities

  • Daily cash and liquidity operations
  • Monitors Federal Reserve and correspondent bank account balances to ensure that adequate funds are available to meet reserve requirements while minimizing costs
  • Recommend and execute wholesale funding transactions (FHLB borrowings, Public Funds, Fed Funds, Brokered CDs etc.) within operational limits in order to meet the liquidity needs
  • Initiate wire transactions to move funds as needed
  • Monitors, manages, and optimizes collateral (securities and whole loans) pledged to counterparties for funding transactions or lines of credit
  • Liquidity risk management and forecasting
  • Calculates internal and external liquidity risk measures and maintain compliance with operational limits, bank policies and regulatory guidance
  • Forecasts the impact of certain balance sheet changes on the bank’s liquidity risk measures
  • Develops, maintains, and tests the company’s contingency funding plan
  • Monitors the wholesale funding markets to develop early warning indicators of bank stress
  • Perform cash flow forecasts for ALCO and regulatory reporting
  • Create and update financial presentations for senior leadership, monthly Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO) meetings, and quarterly board of directors meetings on liquidity and investments
  • Execute day-to-day Treasury general ledger entries for investments and funding
  • Support accounting and reconciliation duties for the bank’s purchased consumer loan portfolio
  • Performs data analysis through the use of SQL, Python, VBA, and other analytical tools

Experience Required

  • One (1) year experience within a bank of financial institution

Required Skills or Training

  • Knowledge of financial reporting and balance sheet analysis
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to summarize findings in a clear way
  • Independent critical thinking, problem-solving and decision making ability
  • Organized and able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Able to independently complete work and manage competing priorities
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • VBA, SQL, macros, Python, Ruby, or other coding experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg Professional is a plus

Professional Certifications, Licenses, And/or Registration Requirements

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation a plus
